If you saved your image to jpg, png....etc you won't be able to go back to the layers.

If you save a copy of what you were working on in Photobie's ( .pob ) format, then you can open that and it will show all your layers and everything you were doing, so you can change it up or keep adding to it.

The .pob extension is just like Photoshop's .psd or Paint Shop Pro's .pspimage formats, they save all the information.

The plugin uses Intel OpenCV library.

OpenCV (Open Source Computer Vision) is a library of programming functions mainly aimed at real time computer vision.

I think you would have to download the OpenCV library from Sourceforge.

http://opencvlibrary.sourceforge.net/

I am wondering if there is a way to undo the "background" layer so it goes back to the original layers of the saved image.

There's no 'smudge mode', I used the smudge tool on one of the layers so I just called that layer the 'smudge layer'.

'Screen mode' is one of the blending modes for the layer.
The blend modes are in the expanded part of the layer manager.

What a difference a newer monitor makes, lol.
Those sigs are a little too sharp now that I see them on my newer monitor.....could use a small amount of blurring maybe.
Dear Cheng
There is *8bf plugin called GML matting which acts as a background remover plugin. This can be downloaded from http://research.graphicon.ru/image-processing/gml-matting-6.html When loaded in DS2 it offers only preview if clicked O.K. Image does not change.
Please investigate

Thanks in advance

I agree. I like to use video I've recorded to make gifs out of, too.

Right now, to do this, I go to Windows Movie Maker and I use the photo taker on it to take individual shots. One at a time. It can get kinda tiring if the gif I want to make is going to be long.

An avi splitter on Photobie would be wonderful.

There's a few ways you could do the same on Photobie.
Photobie has many 'blend' modes to play with, you just have to expand the layer manager and then click on the blend mode area to see them all....plus the other extras in there.

Very quickly, here is one possibility.

Open your image - if it's a colored image you can turn it to gray scale with the 'embedded' filters.
Clone the image, although blending the image over itself may cause some effects that you don't want...depending on the blend. You might be able to do it the same way as your link and create a blank layer to work on.
You can turn off the 'auto layer maker' - saves time and merging later.
Zoom in on your image and paint the areas you want to.
Then choose the blend mode you want.

Try some of the 'RGB' blends towards the bottom of all the blend choices to even change the color you painted.

_________________
.
